Dent Repair USA Privacy Policy

Dent Repair USA (the "App") is operated by Paul Whitehorn doing business as Dent Repair USA ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and your rights.

Summary

We do not sell, share, or transmit your customer data to third parties. Customer information you enter, photos you take, signatures, and estimates are stored on your device. Data leaves your device only when you choose to share it (email, AirDrop, cloud backup), when you optionally sign in to Tech Network features through Google Sign-In, or when you optionally post a message in Global Chat.

Information We Handle

Information You Enter
Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, vehicle information, VINs, and notes. All stored locally on your device.

Photos
Photos you take of vehicle damage. Stored locally on your device. Used to generate estimates and include in PDF outputs.

Signatures
Customer signatures captured for estimate approval. Stored locally on your device.

Estimates
Pricing, damage assessments, R&I items, heat maps, and all estimate data. Stored locally on your device.

Account Information (Optional)
If you sign in to the Tech Network features using Google Sign-In, your name, email address, profile photo, and a unique Firebase user ID are received from Google and stored on our servers (Firebase, operated by Google LLC). You can use the entire estimating workflow without signing in.

Chat Messages (Optional)
The app includes an optional Global Chat feature where technicians can post messages visible to other technicians using the app. Messages, display handles, and timestamps are stored on Firebase (Google LLC). Do not post customer names, customer contact information, or any private business information in chat. Use of the chat feature is optional.

Location (Optional)
If you enable the Live broadcast feature in the Tech Network, your approximate (coarse) location is sent to Firebase so other technicians on the radar can see you are active in an area. Disabled by default. Can be turned off at any time.

Anonymous Usage
We do not currently use any analytics or tracking SDKs.

How Information Is Used

To generate estimates and PDFs containing your business branding
To save customer records you create
To generate backups when you tap Backup My Data
To sync optional Tech Network profile data if you sign in
To deliver optional Global Chat messages to other technicians using the app
To show your approximate location on the optional Tech Network radar if you enable Live broadcast

Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not share your customer data with third parties.

The only times your data leaves your device are:

1. When you tap Email PDF, Save Image, or Share an estimate. You control what is sent and to whom.
2. When you tap Backup My Data and choose where to save the resulting file. You choose the destination.
3. When you sign in to optional Tech Network features. Your profile information is stored on Firebase (Google LLC). Tech Network is optional and can be skipped.
4. When you post a message in optional Global Chat. Messages are stored on Firebase (Google LLC) and are visible to other app users. Chat is optional and can be skipped.
5. When you enable optional Live broadcast in Tech Network. Your approximate location is sent to Firebase. This feature is off by default and can be turned off at any time.

Permissions the App Requests

Camera: Used to take photos of vehicle damage and to scan VIN barcodes.

Photo Library: Used to save generated estimate images and PDFs to your Photos app when you tap Save Image.

Location (only if you opt in): Used only if you enable the Live broadcast feature in the Tech Network. Disabled by default.

Children

This app is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Data Retention

Data stays on your device until you delete it. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

If you have signed in to the optional Tech Network, your profile data and any chat messages you posted remain on Firebase until you request account deletion.

Account Deletion

If you have signed in to the optional Tech Network, you can request account deletion by emailing info@DentRepairUSA.com from the email address associated with your Google Sign-In account. We will remove your account, profile data, and chat history from Firebase within 30 days.

Content Reporting

To report inappropriate chat messages or users, email info@DentRepairUSA.com. We will review and take appropriate action, including removing content and banning users who violate our community standards.

You have the right to know what information we hold, to request a copy, and to request deletion. Contact info@DentRepairUSA.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
